STORIES IN MOTION
As a communicator, it's hard not to love the powerful impact that video can have as a medium. Yes, it definitely takes more time and energy to produce a video than it does to create a graphic or write an article, but it's so worth it!
The videos below are an eclectic mix of journalism, corporate work and passion projects. Each of them tells a story in a way that only the rich medium of video could do justice.

EVENT COVERAGE
CALGARY MUSIC COLLECTORS SHOW
I love music and am an avid collector of vinyl records (junk) so reporting on the Calgary Music Collectors Show was a real treat. This video features an interview with the Show's DJ combined with b-roll shots of customers searching for deals. The ambient music being played at the event provided a nice soundtrack for the video and because it falls under fair use rules, no royalties were required.

SPECIAL REPORT
PEOPLE PROFILES
MiCHAEL HOPE
Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
In this video, I interviewed CPO's Michael Hope about the wonders of being a musician and the importance of donors, sponsors and other philanthropy to the arts in Calgary. I was extremely impressed with Mr. Hope's passion for the CPO as well as his incredible articulation of music's benefits.
Along with the "talking head "portion of the video, I included a series of still images I photographed during CPO rehearsals. This is an example of how a very simple setup, using natural light and ambient sound can result in a professional end product.
ELY RYAN

In this video, I interviewed TradeLife's co-founder Ely Ryan about his experiences as a tradesperson with a focus on his time volunteering in Africa.
Along with the "talking head" portion of the video, I included b-roll footage of Ely at work, as well as a series of still photos he provided from his time in Africa.
CHRIS STUTZ

MINI DOCUMENTARY
THE ART OF FILM PHOTOGRAPHY
In this mini documentary, I explore the medium of film photography, interviewing several notable film photographers in Calgary, Alberta. This project is very close to my heart because of my passion for old cameras and film. This video has been viewed over 6,000 times and was featured on the popular photography website PetaPixel.
BEHIND THE SCENES
FRUITOGRAPHY
I founded and operated Calgary ProPhoto as a side business while I was completing my Bachelor of Communication at Mount Royal University. As a way to promote the business, fellow photographer Jose Soriano and I, organized a fruit-themed photo shoot. I filmed and edited a fast-paced, energetic BTS video showing the process.
